THE SCREAM BREAKS THE SILENCE

A bloodcurdling yell shattered the suffocating silence. It echoed within the empty hall, causing goosebumps to rise on my back. The heart hammered inside its chest as I sought to determine the origin of the terrifying sound. Was it a trick? Or was my imagination playing amuck in the gloomy stillness?
